Senior DevOps Engineer – Contract

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for architecting scalable cloud solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and driving key technical decisions across infrastructure and deployment environments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in leading infrastructure initiatives, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring best practices in automation, security, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable and highly available cloud architectures.
  • Lead major infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.
  • Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, standards, and governance.
  • Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers and support knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production environments when required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement technical strategies.
  • Drive automation initiatives and continuous infrastructure improvements.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets security, compliance, and performance requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Expert knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns.
  • Advanced experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Expert-level Linux/Unix administration skills.
  • Advanced scripting and automation capabilities (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
  • Experience working with multi-account AWS environments and AWS Organizations.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desired Skills

  • AWS Professional Certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect Professional).
  • Experience working with multi-cloud environments (e.g., Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
